For over fourty years the Harbormen Barbershop Chorus has provided the Town of Brookhaven with their very special sound of Barbershop harmony. As much a part of American culture as Old Glory, mom and apple pie, barbershop quartet singing is one of America's favorite art forms. the chorus, which is based in Stony Brook, has 30 members and is the North Brookhaven Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Through its ongoing membership, the Harbormen Chorus has kept the unique sound of a-capella harmony (without instrument accompaniment) alive and well in Brookhaven.
The Harbormen Chorus performed as a part of the Cafe Bald Hill series of the Brookhaven Arts and Humanities Council on Friday, April 11th at 7:30 PM. A grand time was had by all.
