Footie Pajamas and fairy tales,
Sippy cups, a big red ball,
Pitter Patter down the hall,
Princess dresses, frilly lace,
Pretty, freckled, smiling face,
Frayed blankies, I love you Moms
Bedtime stories, action songs
Head, and Shoulders, Knees and Toes,
Where is Thumbkin; got your nose;
Bitsy Spider, bedtime prayers;
Toys all up and down the stairs,
Disney, Barney, Veggie Tales,
Daniel, David, Jonah's Whale,
Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Nothing better in all the world
Than knowing that my little girl
Is giving me a granchild soon
And the cow jumps over the moon.

Mike said after the first grandchild almost 17 years ago, 'If I knew that sleeping with Grandma was this much fun, I would have done so a long time ago.'

My parents have been grandparents for 6 years now. I think they instantly became new people when the first grandchild was born! These people are the same ones that made me obey every rule, rarely bought toys or junk food. Oh, but now, its "Oh, let him jump on the bed, its okay..." and "Alex, you wanna walk to the store and let's get us some ice cream," and actual shopping sprees! They recently bought over $300 worth of clothes for my son. Why did they do this? Because they heard me telling him to "stop crawling on the floor, you're ruining your jeans." Next thing I know, he's got a new wardrobe. Did he need it? NO.
