Well, the start of Spring anyway. I haven't been too far from home yet, but here are some sights within walking distance anyway. The flowers are starting to bloom and there are more geese and ducks along with herons and egrets. I think I spotted a pair of herons setting up house across the way. I'll be trying to get some photos. They tend to hang out under a bridge and the white heron is always there. The blue heron is there very often and I'm watching for little herons. Of course, I don't know if the two mated, but it seems they are particularly fond of this spot. Until I get photos of them, I hope you enjoy these few taken this week with my Canon S3IS.
Out my back door! This is two from a flock of about 24 that visit often. These two seem to always be right out back or walking around nearby. We feed them pellets whenever we see them. The cats just love it when they visit. Missy and Fuzzy sit on the beach chairs in the screened in porch and the geese are right outside.

I have a feeling this is the male and the other one is his mate. He rarely eats when we feed them, he just seems to be looking out for the other one. He has come right up to the back door and looked in at the cats.

Here he is looking around and keeping watch while she eats the pellets.

See the little yellow wild flowers in the grass? We have a lot of these growing. I've never seen them before, being from the North.
They have a nice profile!

Little yellow wild flowers growing in the grass. The geese don't eat these but they do eat the grass.

I think these are azaleas, but we didn't have any this nice up North.

That's all I have for now. The weekend is supposed to be beautiful so I hope to get DH to take me somewhere interesting and I'll get some more and I'll also try to zoom in on Mr and Mrs Heron!

Nice essay. It's good to see folks out and about in warm weather.

Thanks for posting to All Photo Essays Here!
Tinch I'm going to try that, with the lettuce leaf. Maybe they won't hiss at me! I can get real close, but I still have to put the pellets on the ground before they will eat them.
