It's 39 degrees in Minneapolis today and 93 in Austin. Coincidence?

The folks back home might like seeing me all wrapped up against the Austin chill!
Today on the other hand has been hot in more ways than one!! We just had an extended set from the legendary Mick Jones with Carbon/Silicon, they were smokin!!
Mick was grinning the whole time, he looked like he is having fun back out on the road after all these years. We were all just dumb struck, wondering 'how did we get here?!?!?! me and looch were in tears this afternoon when Billy Bragg stopped by and graced us with an amazing performance of astute political observation abd hunourous banter. He even re-worked his classic "Leap Forward" with new up to date lyrics. The generosity of these legends and the way they carried themselves was inspiring and anaffirmation for us, their fans of so so many years. SXSW is sometimes billed as being all about finding the next new big thing, but as I explained to Keri Miller on Midmorning this morning, bringing the old musicheads together with the young hipsters is a very special part of this event. The temp reached 95 and the atmosphere could not be cooler, in the best possible sense of that word. To try to resurrect another cliched term I cannot possibly put into words what we're experiencing...I'll try to more later!
