Beautiful Arizona Poppies

Okay. I think they're actually called California Poppies, BUT we aren't in California. LOL.

My husband, Robert, took these gorgeous pictures today in the mountains above Roosevelt Lake, Arizona. I think he did an awesome job! AND he took them just for ME! LOL.

All pictures taken with an Olympus Camedia digital camera. This camera works when it wants to and it definitely worked today.

This next shot is my absolute favorite. I love how Robert got Roosevelt Lake in the background and all the Arizona Poppies in the foreground. Awesome shot!!!

Absolutely stunning! Your favorite shot is mine, too. What gorgeous colors the desert can yield. I am amazed to see California poppies in Arizona! I grew up in the Sierras and loved these flowers. I did grow up on the eastern slope which is arid so it isn't surprising to encounter your Arizona poppies!

Fabulous shots, Toni. These are my favorite AZ flower, the gold in them is always so striking. Did you know that it is these flowers that the town of Golden Valley is named after?

This actually has brought tears to my eyes and Margo is so right, this is the church of the People!! Wow!! Since I live in New England these pictures are soo different from my scenery. Very cool. I love the saguaro cactus pic. When I think of poppies it always reminds of "The Wizard of Oz" poppies will make them sleep, poppies....
