I don't see how the states that are giving DREAM Act in-state tuition to illegal aliens, while denying that to out-of-state Americans, can get away with violating federal law.
They ought to be penalized for doing that. Congratulations to Rep. Nolte for taking the initiative, and doing something to protect the American people, and kudos to the state of Missouri if they pass it (HB 1463).

Foreign students must have a student visa -- aren't illegal immigrants "foreign students"? Part of immigration reform is recognizing who is and who isn't a citizen. This bill is one opportunity.

While I am somewhat on the fence when it comes to taxpayers financing the college education of any and all illegal immigrants, denying anyone the ability to acquire knowledge and education is stupid. The next logical step would be to deny a public education to high-school and grammar school students who while technically illegal immigrants are still children and like many of those seeking entrance college may have entered this country illegally because they were obeying their parents. Whether illegal immigrants stay or go I would rather end up dealing with people who are not ignorant because our nation denied them an education.

Carol: The student is here illegally. At the very least they should have to pay out of state tuition. It is unconscionable that American students are denied a chance at college yet these kids can get in. If you want it to be "fair" I suppose you could insist that they pay out of state tuition, meet all standard academic criterion, and not receive any sort of student aid. That way they would be getting through on hard work and merit.

When illegal aliens from every country of the world come here and we all know there are criminals and terrorists in that group, they are all considered 'illegal aliens'. With that group comes the good, the bad and the ugly.

If the good want to stand out from 'the group' and not be demonized then they should do something different that would make them stand out .... come in LEGALLY!
It is literally their choice, don't put the blame on me or make me feel obligated in any way because you made a bad choice.

As is the case so often with discussions about illegal immigration, what is too often overlooked is the long list of serious harms to Americans from illegal immigration. Perhaps there should be more training in the schools about WHY our immigration laws
exist, and what protections they provide.
There seems to be too many people who are clueless on this.

John Gotti was a productive member of society as a matter of fact his neighbors loved him, damn the town of Howard Beach loved him. He employed many people, ran many businesses and the goverment arrested this guy? Something about breaking laws, go figure. Breaking a law is illegal in this country, not sure about the others.

I just don't understand why they would arrest this guy, he was paying taxes.
