Oh, man, I've been to so many haunted places in Indiana! I eat at the haunted Hacienda all the time! Of course, I already knew that St. Mary's College was haunted. When I went there, we all knew about the girl who hung herself in the bell tower. What the site doesn't mention is that she killed herself after having a secret baby and killing the baby. You can also hear the baby crying at night. Doors mysteriously slam in Lemans Hall; I knew people who experienced this. The steam tunnels (now closed, but in my day, we used them as passage between buildings) are also haunted by the ghost of a worker who died there. Or so they say.

Glad I saw this I had seen this site that had this info on it a few times but had forgot how to get to it. The strangw thing about this site is on the Georgia sitings mysister was wittness to the one in fannin County or so she told me. I still question her senserity on it though. Not so sure i should by in to my sister's tall tells.

There are a ton for Ohio! Geez! A lot sound similar though. There are a few that give me a weird feeling when I read them. I wonder if those are the real ones as opposed to the urban legend ones! LOL

NYC and WASHINGTON DC are considered 2 of the most if not THE most haunted places in the USA ....now why's that......

In Chicago the most famous ghost is Resurrection Mary. She is sighted along Archer Avenue near Resurrection Cemetery. Story was that she got into a spat with her boy friend at a party long ago, stormed out of the party and got hit by a car and died and now wanders the area.

Strange, I clicked my state and the first thing that came up is the cemetery where my niece is buried.

It is a small cemetery, that sits on a wooded hill, located out in the middle of nowhere. Very peaceful there. I never would have known it was considered haunted.

So interesting I really like reading these. Eric took me by a cemetery that the area is suppose to be haunted. Was pretty spooky but I was actually hoping to see the girl they claim walk down the road.

I have been to the Holly Hotel in Michigan, but didn't meet any ghosts. The dinner was the best food I have ever had and the hotel is beautiful.

hmmm the AL sites must not have been updated...the ocal ones of interest for us were the Smith Station covered bridge (collapsed two year ago and being rebuilt elsewhere) and the Auburn train depot (converted into offices 3 years ago)...still no one livnga round here Salem AL) has not heard of those stories and others just as creepy...

We have many places near us, I noticed here in Ohio.
Supposedly there was a ghost in Fort Hamilton Hospital. I was at that hospital two separate occasions, both for each of my son's births. And, also for tests, etc. I've never once seen a ghost there, or even seen a presence. Nor have I heard of such until now. Weird. It must be because I don't believe in ghosts. Who knows.
And, in our state, is the legend of Bloody Mary. Who, they don't call bloody Mary anymore according to the website link. And, they've changed the story about how she died. Originally they had thought she was thought a witch and had burned her at the stake.
But, that's not true. She was considered a witch, but, lived to a ripe old age, and died peacefully. And, she's buried on a hill somewhere.
Well, as a child when I was told her story, and we learned the mirror trick, by saying her name three times, we, of course tried it out.
Believe me, it does work!
I saw her face in the mirror as a child, as it was told to me of course. Her face was green, and I was scared to death. And, I never did that again, that's for sure.
And, we also have the legend of the two lovers meeting on a bridge, where the boyfriend was on motorcycle, and he died when he ran into a kid on a bicycle. It was an accident, he didn't see the kid until it was too late. Well, since the boyfriend died, the girl got depressed and hung herself.
The legend goes, if you go by at night, and you flash your headlights three times, you can see the motorcycle headlights coming toward you and the red reflection from the bicycle's reflectors.
Cause that's how the boy signaled his girlfriend, he flashed his headlights three times. They met in secret, I forgot to add that part, sorry.

The ghost of Squires Castle here in Ohio, Chardon to be exact is always feeling cold because the darn roof ceiling whatever a castle must have to keep warm is missing. It collapsed about sixty or seventy years ago and has not been replaced since. However, the agonizing wailing, not screams, is heard because in the legend that claims her death to be accidental hanging from falling off the high steps while sleepwalking in her nightgown, states she slowly perished for days before anyone realized she ventured from her quarters on the second floor . . . oooooooh

I try and visit the site every month or so as I only live within twenty minutes of the castle and every visit can be better or worse with some proof than the last. . . always worth it in some fashion. Thanks for posting this ! and I knew Haunted Ohio is a valuable place to seek the spirits

There are mosre hauntings than listed on the links. Like for Brookstown Inn It is more than a lady crying "Mercy, Mercy Mercy" I know I experience items which I have written about and I have pictures. Sadly the Inn will not admit to the spooks in fear of losing bussiness, they fired one lady working there for tellin people about the infamous fourth floor and keeping notes on things happening.

As for here in Charlotte, NC there is alot of spooky stuff. Like the ledgend of Old Dowd Road of the girl walking on the bridge at night to find a way home after her prom. People would take her home and she would vanish and find out she had been gone for years. She was killed on her way back from her prom when her boyfreind crashed the car since he was drunk.

Jan this is soo cool. I looked up Georgia and found several places that ghosts were found. I expected to find ghosts sited at Andersonville, Americus and Albany but not in my hime town. Thanks a whole lot!
