New York's governor, Elliott Spitzer, of recent driver's license for illegal aliens, vote-groveling fame. has been caught in a prostitution arrangement, by federal officials using a wiretap.
Spitzer, who prosecuted prostitution rings as head of New York's organized crime task force, may now face federal prosecution himself under the 1910 Mann Act, which bans transporting someone over state lines for prostitution. He could also be charged under state law.
Spitzer has been quoted by reporters as repeatedly apologizing (a self-serving act designed for the benefit of the apologizer). Well, maybe if No-Longer-Elegant-Elliott keeps apologizing long and hard enough, he can wiggle his wasy out of it, and avoid jail time.
Only problem there is wouldn't that be unfair to all the people serving time for the same crimes he violated (especially the ones he himself prosecuted and sent to prison).
Elliott : Be a man. GO TO JAIL !!!
P.S. the prostitutes Spitzer contacted advertised their rates at $1000-$5500/hour, and this is said to have gone on for 10 years, with over $80,000/spent (taxpayers money ?) HA! I'll bet those hookers were not as hot as the cashier women in my local supermarket.
