This is my little computer desk at night when I am asleep, - my laptop just sets there resting anticipating the next day's workout!

I too keep a little notebook to write notes and important stuff down as I gather.

Ahhhhhhhh, this is where I am 95% of my time on my computer when I am doing serious stuff like "gathering" and reading Vicky's great articles,-- I really can relax here on the couch....the hours just fly, it always does when you're having fun!

Phyllis! I have the same Old Royal typewriter. I learned to type on mine when I was eighteen. Your work space looks so comfy, I love it.

I got the BIG J going here...over that typewriter. Typewriters are so cool...I almost cried when I gave up my IBM Selectric I got in 1974 for college graduation. I spent lots of time in front of a typewriter...I wonder if my mom still has the old ones like this. I remember one with windows (beveled glass) on the sides.

Hi Apryl, - thanks so very much for commenting, - I love those old typewriters too! Buckwheat is doing better, we are having a hard time keeping the tape around his nose and head.....he went out earlier to 'do his things' and has rubbed his nose raw on the cement, it had it bleeding before I could get to him. When is inside on his bed he rubs it in his bed and that is not so bad............we had had to re-do his little headgear 3 times, - we are waiting now for a phone from our vet for any suggestions!! Thanks so much for your concerns about Buckwheat, I so much appreciate it!!

That's always hard when they feel good enough to fight what's best for them but still need to be bandaged. Hope the vet has some good advice for you.

Mariana - thanks so much for your sweet comments, I use a lot of blue, navy blue and pink in my decorating..........my husband's favorite color is blue so that is one reason I use it so much!!! Buckwheat is doing better, - trying to keep his little headgear on has really been a challenge!

JoAnn - The couch is so much more comfortable, time flies when I am there! I love my laptop too..........it can go anywhere and everywhere, - sometimes I feel like it is an
extension to my body!!!

I should have stated earlier that an elderly man I barely knew, had met on couple times, made me this desk..........it is one of those things that you cherish and would hate like crazy to lose if your home burnt down.

Ellie - thanks so much...........Happy Toes collect all sorts of things and that is what I love to keep around me, you notice my roses......anything roses I MUST HAVE!!! (I got the fru-fru from my grandmother, all my collectibles remind me so much of her and that always makes me happy)!!

Vivian - thanks so much....they are so neat, I remember as a child trying to press the keys down and it would not move since they were so stiff.............I would get so angry too! (LOL)

J - Yes, this thing is very heavy..........I have probably only moved it twice when I dust this area, - I am afraid I will drop it on my 'happy toes'!! You are so right,- this would make a great weapon to knock out a burglar. Thanks so much for commenting I so much appreciate it!

Vicky - thanks so much, I used to use my husband's desktop but after couple hours my shoulders and neck hurt so bad I could barely move! Then he got me a laptop and we have been best friends every since (me and the laptop that is)!! Thanks again for your lovely comments, I never thought of the contrast between the two until you and Kim commented, - now I really think it is cool!!! You had a great idea about doing this,- it truly was fun!!!

Ellie - I have been to yours, - and I love it. You got a big nice place to gather, that is so neat!! Yea, I liked the view to the TV in the family room, that really looked comfortable. I have never carried my laptop to bed but one time, - I was sick and feel sicker moving around so I had hubby bring it to me and w/i minutes I was feeling better!! LOL He called it a 'healing medicine'~~~~

Phyllis! I LOVE your pretty blue desk. Now, that's what I'm talking about. I want a lovely little piece like you have, to hold my computer. And I love all your pretty accessories ... that lamp is so sweet. I see you use a footstool underneath the desk. I have one, too. That way, I can stretch out my legs once in a while. This is fun, isn't it?!

Yea, that footstool is the trick, I used one at work too, - it is amazing how much more work (and like you said is it FUN) you can get done with your legs stretched out and propped up!! No way I would photograph my work area - my motto is that a clean desk is the sign of a sick mind. I must have the healthiest mind around as my workspace is a disaster area - all I need is the yello police tape to atick across it to show its condemnation. I can't keep order on the desk and creativity in my mind so I let creativity have its reign.

Donna - that is very cute! My motto is a cluttered desk means no work is getting done because you can not find the work for the clutter. I believe in organization, - I was known as "Ms. Organization" at work, - anyone who needed to know where anything was always came to me. I am a clean freak, I really enjoy cleaning (house and yard)....it is very therapeutic !

This is a nice clean work area. I share my computer area with four males. My husband, my 19 year old, my 14 year old and yes my 6 year old too. There are post it notes stuck to the computer desk so my husband can remember all of his user names and pass words. I am going to have a lap top all of my own. I got home from work last night anxious to check my email after several days out of the loop, my step children came last night and low and behold I finally went to bed at 11pm, I got tired of waiting my turn.

Phyllis, if my desk were that clean I would never get anything done. I have my desktop and gather address book, all the sites I visit and my friends email address and some telephone numbers too. But have to have the phone and glass of water. Plus half a dozen other things. If I had a laptop with house wired for wireless internet through out the house that would be easier to keep house.
