The independent music scene explored by Kim & Seana & a free mp3 player.

Before I go too far in this summary/review of these two musicians that explore some of America's Independent music scene. Let me tell you at the end of this article there will be a contest in which you can win some cool prizes (1Gb mp3 player, iTunes gift cards, Gasoline gift cards and CMJ music download gift cards). So be prepared to win, in all there will be 12 winners.

Okay basically Kim is out trying to get her music heard and break into the music biz. In today's music world you pretty much HAVE to have a gimmick…but too gimicky can be a burden. So has set out to create her own and she does so by traveling the Eastern U.S. and meeting up with independent musicians such as M.I.A., Dude and Em, Andrew W.K and others. Supported by CMJ, Ford and others she makes this trek From New York, to Chicago, Nashville and on to New Orleans. All the way the trek is videotaped as she performs, auditions and has some fun with independent artists.

Now this online adventure is the stuff of Reality TV and soap operas (Kim even has some breakup moments with her boyfriend Trevor). This was some really great drama to unfold during the Hollywood Writer's strike and is now coming to an end. One of the really interesting aspects of this journey/adventure/"series", is that it shows what sites like YouTube and MySpace are capapble of.
