I stared at the green tux.
"Isn't it divine?" Natalie smiled.
My bride-to-be had picked a tuxedo that matched my future mother-in-law's bedroom carpet. I imagined starting married life as a leprechaun. The guys would be laughing till death do us part.
Upside: Natalie's beautiful, fun, unpredictable.
Downside: She's colorblind.
I gauged the situation. Switch the tux? Tell the truth? Suggest we elope? All precarious.
"I thought you wanted white," I said after a long pause.
"Grey is so elegant." Natalie said.
"You choose," I said and kissed her painted-purple lips. "I love you."
Color me love blind, but...I do.

i have a friend who's husband was color blind but it was never diagnosed until he painted a room chartreuse believing it was powder blue...
well done,Kate
Fun, Romantic, true love and colored blind, LOVE IT!!!!
BTW ~ My Dad was colorblind... my mother was very gracious and kind, and he often wore greens, golds and browns that didn't match, but which all seemed to him to be the same shade of kakhi! Hahahaha!
