With eyes closed, I absorb the sun's warmth. The memories, of the visit with my daughter (Brooke) and twin granddaughters (Jenna & Jaden) yesterday, play in my mind. With each vision of their visit, I can not help but think of Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) bellowing out the lyrics to "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing". The words to that song seem so appropriate.
I do not have enough time with my grandchildren. Time is so fleeting and children grow up so fast. When I do spend time with them, I really do not want to miss a thing. I long to watch them play, hear them sing and talk, watch the smiles light up their angelic faces, hear their sighs, watch their antics, see the wind dancing in their hair....the list is endless and I cherish each moment I spend with them.
Yesterday, we had a nice visit and I realized that it seems like forever since I saw them last. They are talking more, more animated, more active (if that's possible), and so much fun to be with. Here are a few things we did during the time we had together (for the full affect, click on the song title in the above paragraph and let the video play while you look through the photos):
The countdown to launch is "ONE-TWO-TEE"....

Coming off the landing strip can be a bit blinding...

Concentration is everything....

Some landings are just harder than others....

As you can see from the looks on the faces, Having to say "cheese" is not as fun as people think....

Mom helps with the swinging....

Taking a little breather....

Happiness is....

Mother Nature's drawing pad.....

Making sand castles....

Falling sand....

Frog Dance (jump up and down while saying "wibbit, wibbit, wibbit")...

Jackson had enough of the "girl" play and politely informed us that he was going inside. As you may know, Gameboys seem to be a high priority these days...

You can not go to GG's house without having icecream....

One of the biggest consequences of eating icecream is brain freeze....

With empty bowl outstretched, Jenna says "Allen, more pweeze"...

Back to work "vacuuming"....

Getting sidetracked....

When you only have one of a desired item, there are bound to be fusses....

Sweet kisses....

And after a long day of food, fun, and sunshine it is time for a break...any where will do:

This is how one afternoon left me with memories to last forever. Hope you all remember to enjoy the little things in life and don't pass up an opportunity to be with those you love.

your sweatshirt on J. I think?
Renda, they are beautiful angels.
I too, am called GG (actually Ghee-Ghee) by my 2 grandchildren.
They always have ice cream every time they are here.
I don't want to miss a thing either. They are the lights of my life and I'm getting teary-eyed again because it's been 3 weeks or so and I do miss them.
Thank you. :-)
Tina, thank you for the compliment. I am so sorry to hear that your parents do not ask to see their grandchildren. That's pretty sad. Hope the situation changes for the better soon, they do not realize what they are missing. Thanks for stopping by.

It took a long time to load as I'm in the middle of nowhere on dial-up but gave me a reason to get on some neglected housework, thanks
Jaden & Jena are beautiful and Jackson is a handsome young man. They are all very precious.
You have done an excelent job, with this photo essay, being a mother and now a grandmother. Obviously a very proud mother and grandmother. You deserve to be.

Lara, I probably should put a notice at the beginning of this indicating loading time. I'm sorry it took you so long to load it, but glad it gave you time to catch up on some housework :)
Mom & Ken, I am so glad you guys could stop by and see this. The twins are growing so quickly and I miss so much because I can not be with them all the time. I am proud :) I had some good teachers with you two and Dad & Dee. I love you guys!
Dad & Dee, I was definitely in heaven :) They do grow up too fast. We will be at the party this weekend and it will be good to see you both. I love you both.
