The Found Dog

I took some pictures of the dog that wandered my way this morning.  I took him for a walk this afternoon and found out he has been wandering since at least Friday.  If anyone knows of someone that is missing a Boston Terrier in Winter Haven, send me a private email (amanda@carlingchinesecrested.com).  Remember, if your dog is microchiped make sure the chip is registered either to you or someone that can be reached easily.  (All of my puppies are registered to me, so if they get lost I will get a call and can contact the owner.)  I took a few pictures.

He is a doll and I am glad he is safe with you. Call all the local shelters and let them know. Do not give him up unless someone can offer proof.

When I found a black cocker spaniel someone called and said she had lost a dog matching his description. I made her describe the collar and her description was way off. She then tried to change her description. She was lying and I knew I could not give her the dog.

Mary Ann, unfortunately our local shelter does not keep a list of lost pets. I know because a friend of mine lost one of my puppies and I called. It is a shame. I will still try to call anyway. I will also try some of the local vets. I hope the microchip will offer some help.

Mariana, I already listed him on there this morning. I also looked for posters around my home. And checked the local papers (5 whole lost/ found ads 4 being FOUND).

awwh. how sad. I hope he finds his owner soon. it was so sweet of you to take him in.
thanks for taking care of him until his owner is found. I worry for the lost animals.

He is doing fine here. He didn't want to eat at first, so I put a bowl of food next to me and he finally started eating. He is snoring and farting like crazy though. He does seem very timid at times. Everytime I go to touch him he acts like I am going to hit him.

Oh, the poor little thing...I feel so much emotion for these little animals that get lost or are abandoned by their owners. I hope you're able to find his owner or a very good home for him. Poor little baby... Let us know how it turns out.

Is there a national online registry for lost pets. Once I found one that had gotten out of a recreational home travelling through - they stopped at McDonald's and the little poodle jumped out! Somehow it ended up at my house (it must be the blinking Neon lights with Sucker) strung across my front porch - we took in the little prissy poodle with ear bows and all and started looking for the owner everywhere. Luckily, the woman had the good sense to put an ad in the Santa Barbara News Press - she lived way down in San Diego - I called her and the next day after I called she arrived and was so deliriously happy - she sent me cards from Sparky for a long time for her gratitude. I help out all animals I find...I will see if I can find the link. You are in Florida so it may be someone passing through...Best of luck. Salud.

Microchipping is very important. I would be heartbroken if I lost my dog.

Scared and timid. Last seen in: winter haven, Florida. SE Winter Haven near High School ...
I went to Dog Detective - you can do a Google.com and put in Dog Detective and put type of dog and see what turns up. Salud.

His right eye looks a little strange to me, but perhaps it's the angle of the photo. Perhaps that tweaks with his vision and that is causing him to be extra careful around you since he doesn't know you.

Poor little guy. I sure hope that someone is looking for him. I was chasing two little weiner dogs around this morning. I didn't want them to run towards the nusy road, so I had the neighbor boy help me to get them back inside our street. After they started barking at us, There owner on the next stree started calling them. They slipped under the fence, into their own yard. She really needs to fix that, or watch them better. I would hate to see them smashed on the road. Poor babies. My dog is microchipped. I think that they should do that in all dogs. I just got an email that the state of Florida is trying to do away with microchipping! I sent a letter saying no, thast's just ridiculous! Especially here in Florida, with all the hurricanes!

I read the other article first and the more I think about it the madder I get!I can not belive the nerve of that ower and I think she's a mean person.
I wonder if its the husbands dog and she put it out to be hateful to the husband.I would come and get him if it was not 12 hours to drive there.
