This old, lichen-covered root system along one of the trails caught my eye:

Farther along the same trail I came across a dead tree whose bark was gone. leaving gray, weathered wood. I put my camera in "Super Macro" mode (which means you can put the lens right up on the subject if you want to; I got in pretty close) to explore the textures:



On the trail overlooking the quarry I saw this scene of sunlight through some Oak leaves still hanging on:

Those are the images I took home with me from the walk in Ballard Park.

The roots reminded me of this picture I took at the Bellagio:
Tonia, yeah, I seem to remember a lot of shots of old, weathered wood you've posted in the past. Heh, heh!
