When I went to check on the babies this morning I was horrified. I saw the cages all a mess and there were babies all over the floor! Last night one of the dogs escaped from the pen and decided to eat all the hedgies food and put the babies all over the floor. She didn't hurt them, but they were scattered around the room. I picked them up and put them all back into the cage with Betsey, but she didn't seem to interested in them right now. I found 7 and couldn't find the other 2. I thought Tink may have taken them outside, but I went to look. I then went back to Betsey's cage and recounted. Two of the babies must have been hidden under the bedding because all 9 were there. I will check on them later. If Betsey isn't nursing them then I will try to handfeed. I put a top on the cage, so nothing else can get in or out! Please pray that the babies will survive all this stress.
