The government is sending out letters this month telling us that we will soon receive our tax rebates.  Now, here's the kicker:  The cost of the mailings is 42 million dollars.  Now, I'm all for communication, but just send the check fellers, skip the letter.  Could you use a few of those dollars?

Yes, hearing on the news and then send the darn checks and hey... why not include to cost of that mailing, too? That would add a couple of bucks to each check, why not. ;-)

It's not just the government who send out lots of letters and spend so much on mailings. The credit card rates are high. Every week someone in this house gets a pre-approved credit ap from Capitol One. Almost every day we get something from some other credit card or bank for the same thing.
I am thankful we have internet. I love corresponding with others. I do most of my bill paying online. And I can sit here and read many articles similar to those in magazines without a subscription and without all the piles of reading material all over the house. I had the internet before I was on gather, so now I use it almost all day. I hate to pay postage and shipping & handling.

I don't get why they are sending the letters and wasting the money. Quite honestly, I'd like it if they'd send me the money they're spending, and I could email people to let them know! lol
