Who are you?
I went to sort my Gatherfriends into sets and ended up with the following:
Smartasses: These are people that enjoy my warped sense of humor. They don't get worried and recommend therapy when I explain that my cup isn't half-empty; it's shattered on the floor. They get me. These are my favorite people. (44 people)
Smart People: I thought I needed this category but as it turned out I didn't. The very same people that are in the Smartasses set are also in the Smart People set. Go figure. (44 people)
Writing Coaches: These are people that take writing seriously. They have either encouraged me to write more or I know that I can count on them for honest criticism when the time comes. Yes, I really do plan to write something serious in 2008. I'm not happy with the name of this set but I couldn't think of anything else. (31 people)
Local People: This set is small indeed. I doubt I'll ever publish to it. It's more a group to not publish to if I want to bitch about my friends' kids or make fun of their hairdo. (7 people)
Trusted Few: Most of these people have my snail mail address, my phone number, and my private email address. These are the people who will soon get to see all the articles I've typed but never published because they were to personal or too emotional or whatever. Shortly after that they will probably all dump me. (14 people)
That left 87 people in a set that I called Everyone Else. Who are you people that I had to classify as Everyone Else? Why are we connected? Was it just for the points? Did you ask for the connection because you do enjoy my warped sense of humor and I just don't realize it because you've never left a comment on any of my stuff?
I need you people to sort yourselves for me. Please leave a comment telling me what set you belong in or suggesting a new set if you aren't smart, trustworthy, or interested in writing.

I think I'm in about 3 of the groups and none of them are the everyone else. I do know where you live you know.
I might be a smart people but not a smart a$$ so that doesn't fit me in your catagories.
You are so funny.
My lists are quite different than yours.
I like your writing coach idea.
I think I'll make a photography coach group for myself.
You are in my Springfield, local friends, liberal and homeschool groups.
I need to think up some name for people whose writing I enjoy reading.
You'd be in that one too.
thanks!
Here is my list: # christian, conservative, photography, cat people, real life friend, springfield, Independents, liberal, Boston, family, freecycle, close gather frnds, acquaintance, homeschool, geocache, genealogy, Australia, senior gather, inactive,
Writing _funny, Writing_poetry, Photography coach.
I was thinking more of wanting to be able to find people who did certain things or wrote about certain things in a hurry as I thought of lists.
*thinks to herself...oh shit...if she rejects me does that make me an instant dumbass?*
then the gloves come off!! I think you are very funny and love to read your stuff.
I'm good with being smart or adding the "ass" to it, unless you want to create a list for "snarky pants."
In conversations about grouping friends, I was just thinking that The Group W Bench would be perfect for witty friends if only the pretender in the white house hadn't ruined that letter for us.
But... Since most others wouldn't agree, I'd settle for whichever group you put me in. That is, of course, until you decide to disconnect from me for not being a smart ass, a writing coach, a local or smart person..... I'm watching the sand in the hourglass... These are the days of our lives....
I'm making my own category: Loud mouthed fat guys who pretend to be rubber frogs and go for the negative attention a lot.
Being a pickle is a good thing. Be proud. Throw your chest out.
Constant friends are a short group for me. They are the ones that I honestly believe care about me as a person.
I'm sure you know which group you belong to. I can only hope you measure me the same.
I hope to heck I made it into your smartasses group and/or Writing coaches. I don't want to weep into my tea for being everyone else.
Remember, it's easy to disconnect from someone who spams you. Just click on their icon or namespace link in the comment or email. Once you're on their page it's only one click to disconnect. It's immediate revenge too. I don't know that cold is always the best serving temperature. :)
