Stop Global Warming Virtual March

The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is an initiative to promote awareness about global warming. It has attracted over one million people who declare that global warming is here now and it's time to act.

The site gives some good information about global warming and features some prominent people who have joined the march. The site also offers some banners, such as the banner displayed at the top of this article.

You can also add the icon as the background for your avatar, as done on the right. If you'd like to create a similar avatar, go to Meez.com. Once you've created your avatar, you can use it at many social networking sites, in chatrooms and in messaging applications. Unfortunately, Gather isn't included in those sites (yet). Perhaps Gather is developing their own avatar creation tool? Anyone any suggestions?

Marching will not help at all. It doesn't attack the root of the problem, only puts on a fun show. Money is what's causing the problem and until you (and the rest of us) change the money the problem will continue to worsen. Visit the POM Education group here on gather to understand how and why money leads us to act so foolishly as to polute our selves to death. Read my novel, "Invisible Hand" to see what we could be doing instead. (ie living much better and wealthier lives)

So many things are going virtual that it was only a matter of time before a march walked that highway. The great thing is that it doesn't cost $4 a gallon to drive to the starting point.

Good information. Thanks, Sam. I don't know if these marches help anything, except to put you on one more email list, but I'll sign up anyway. I do think that making choices re: how you spend your money has an impact. So does writing your elected representatives and local newspapers.
