Where in the World is Everyone Today?

Hey, I feel like I'm on a "Gather Island" today!  I've noticed that the postings and comments are few and far between... I sure hope this doesn't mean a number of you can't get on to Gather since the upgrade last night!  Perhaps everyone is doing something else?  Is it an off day?

Somebody talk to me! ;-D

P.S.  Thanks to all the Gather techs for the new upgrade!  I'm looking forward to seeing what all is new and taking advantage of these features!

Hi Nancy, I've been here a few minutes. From what I have heard people aren't getting article notifications and can't publish to groups. I am among those. I am just walking the halls of gather aimless, looking for my friends.

I've learned the lesson that when Gather 'upgrades' it means problems eventually. So I just stay away until they wipe their feet and it's safe to come inside.

Nancy, I've been on gather for hours. I have view, rated, and posted, and my points haven't moved once! WATCH YOUR POINTS!
Also, trying to post an image takes at least 25 mins. I was working on my second one, and half the screen disappeared! There was no submit button or anything!!!

I'm off to the dentist, but I will check back with you later.
It does seem like there aren't many people here today!

My points haven't moved either, Nina! Guess we're all feeling a bit isolated today. Hardly anything has come through to my regular email from Gather - I had no idea, for example, that this article I just published had 12 comments! I just thought I'd come by to check it out, and lo and behold, you're all here! Gees, here we go AGAIN!!

I'm alive, Nancy. I've been emailing my wife back-and-forth (she is at work) trying to convince her to let me have a dog. It has been an uphill battle. She has never had an animal in her house; I grew up with a dog and I want one for companionship as my teenagers 17,14 are getting older and will be moving on soon. She's worried about whether or not we can afford one. I think we can, she has not reached that level of comfort yet and it has been a real "bitch" trying to convince her that I "need" this dog for my sanity and well-being.

Gotta go, Everyone - My Mother just called me to tell me my Dad just had a small stroke, but this one's bigger than the others, and he just had surgery the past week. She took him to the hospital, so I'm on my way. For those of you who pray, would you please pray for my Dad? Thanks - talk to you all sometime after I get back ~ Nancy

Hey, Nancy. I'm here, again. I was on this morning. I'm spending a great deal of time on Ancestry.com and GenesReunited.com trying to put together my family tree so I haven't been on Gather a whole lot.. I try to come by every day and see what everyone's posting, though.

Hi Gather Buddies, Thanks for ALL of your good thoughts, words, and prayers today...

My Dad was admitted to the hospital and had some tests after he had his TIA (smaller stroke), but he seems to have leveled out now. He is staying in the hospital at least tonight, and then we'll see. It frightens my Mother and me because he's having these more and more frequently, as well as various surgeries and very expensive medication...you know the routine if you've been through it...

Anyway, I'm pretty pooped tonight after all this, but it's so good to have heard from each of you and to know I'm not just by myself in this... It's been a truly wonderful experience being here on Gather and getting to know you a little more each day - or week - and I do appreciate you all. Thanks so much for all your many kindnesses.

Yes, I've missed you guys! Dad's still in the hospital today getting tests...we also just had (and are still having) more snow/sleet today here in northeast Texas. Weird. I'm so sorry to hear many of you have been battling the flu - what a miserable thing. I hope you all start to feeling better really soon! God bless! ~ Nancy
