PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION (NO COMMENTS, SMALLER PICTURE)
The quick stitch was one of the very first stitches I learned to crochet. It makes a great border on lots of projects, or you can make whole projects out of it. It resembles lattice work, I think, and I really love how quick and easy it is too. I have done solids and various stripes, but I really like this stripe pattern. The Bernat Softee Chunky yarn is awesome too - affordable and so soft and easy to work with. Enjoy!

Dee C., If you can do granny squares, you can learn to do this. If you need help just hollar!
Sandra (secretary of Lalaland) C., - it is an easy and quick one - I love this stitch.
Pattie J., Yeah, one of my patterns has over 70 comments which I realized would be annoying if you want to print, so I am giving this a try and hope it works well.
Thanks all for your comments.
Jami - this is an easy pattern to start with. If you need assistance, let me know.
I am struggling to figure out how to turn, the blanket is getting bigger every row!
is there something I am missing? if I read it right, I am basically doing 3 doubles [chain and 2 doubles] in the last SC - which is the last stitch of the last row..
help!
nanette - you should end on a single crochet, then turn, ch 3, then do 2 more dc in the SC of the previous row. This should create a straight edge. Let me know if this did not work.
Monica, do you have a picture of this pattern in a solid or two-tone? I want to make it for my nephew, but thought I may just make it solid green or maybe green and white (he's still on the way :D) I love the look of it-I might just have to make one each for each of my own kids, too. The pattern doesn't sound too complicated. I appreciate your offer for help if needed and I'm sure if I get stuck I'll let you know. However, I've made your pattern (the baby boy blue one I think it's called) and had no trouble with that... You're so talented!!! I look forward to seeing your next blanket! :)
Meara - I do not have one written for a solid or two toned version yet but have done both. I will work on writing those soon. Until then, you could use this for solid or two toned pretty easily by simply not changing colors as often or at all. Would you want thick stripes or thin stripes (like this is now)? this is one of my favorite stitches and once you master it you can use it as a border as well as for making blankets. It is pretty easy. Join my group (see link above) to keep up with new patterns posted.
I love this one! The colors are just awesome too!
Hi Monica
After many, many times trying to registe on gather, I've finally made it.
You gave me a pattern for a border for my baby blanket. Would this work with sports weight?
Thanks Cathrine
Yes, that will work. Oddly enough, the pattern I gave you is the border used on this blanket. Let me know if you have questions.
26" square. Can I change the size of this to work. I like this!
