Waiting at the edge.
You count the waves
As I number my scars.
I'm as endless as the sea.
Cold air fills up
your blackened lungs
As I frantically prepare
to repair the damage that your
lips are fixing to commence.
Chills are created and passed
from flesh to flesh.
Bruised.
As your mouth begins to expel empty promises
my heart embarks on the solitary journey
of moving on without you.
You used to reside inside.
Inside the crevices of my fractured heart.
Words bloated with love, with your heart
placed in the palms of my hands.
Time never lessened us.
It was you that tore us down.
And now my hands are left empty & idle.
