Did you just receive a nasty Email?

Got me Carol, I didn't get one.

I have no idea - I didn't receive any nasty email.... but I think I read an article earlier about someone receiving all the replies between a 'former guide' and someone who wasn't one of his connections....

I missed it, thank goodness :)

I think I know which one your talking about. I didn't really understand what it was or why I was getting a copy of it. Why publicize the fight. I just threw it out.

Dunno. If an email to me goes to more than one recipient I delete them without reading them.

Must be one of that I blocked. I've been blocking all the names from those emails, because I was sick of being dragged into their cat fight.

I've gotten a couple. I just deleted them. It was none of my business. If anyone wants my involvment they need to contact me directly. Isn't there enough fighting in the world? We have to have it on gather, also? Ridiculous.

I got it, it is part of an ongoing issue and copies are going to several people. I have gotten emails from 3 people now that are all about the same topic. Ignoring it and letting them work out their problems is probably the best idea.

I don't think I got it but I haven't really looked.

I received it also and to me it looks like she cc'd or bcc'd everyone who was included in the original message that was sent by him.

It's an ongoing thing/issue/problem/annoyance and I'm sure everyone would like it all just to stop now. However, none of this will ever stop if these 'glitches' keep happening.

I didn't get any nasty emails, but in the past, I have gotten a response that someone sent to an email I didn't receive.

I've gotten a few of them...
I was sooooo confused, at first. %^}
The first that I got was from the guy--who I'm not connected with--who sent his mass email to about a gazillion people. Seems that it didn't go over too well with Dee, who fired off a reply to him about not telling her what she needs to know about how to Gather when she hadn't asked him to tell her. *lol* (You GO, Dee! ;o) )
So now all I get is whatever Dee is sending to everyone, and I always enjoy reading her articles/emails so I'm just sittin' back and enjoying the show. :o)

Delete and block sender...problem solved.

I delete most of my e-mails, so I did not get t hat one.

No, I'd blocked the former gather guide for the initial spam and didn't receive the later responses, though I have seen some of them in other articles posted since. I really don't appreciate being put on people's mass spam lists when they aren't even connections so I block pretty fast for that.

I didn't get the original article because at that time I wasn't connected to him and apparently wasn't worthy of the email SPAM....however, I did get the second one and can only ditto DJ B and add that if you received the second one to check the original "to" list,......it pretty much shows who all got the original via glitch

funny though,.....today I got a connection request from the guy himself...odd isn't it how those glitches seem to be happening.....

No nasty e-mail here. Even if I had one all I would do is delete it and not concern myself with it. Things of that nature are to petty to be bothered with.

I understood what was going on (I think Dee was trying to point out she could pull out all of his bcc's and his "it was only to one person and you got it by accident" explanation did not hold water. I guess it wouldn't have gone on so long if he said something more like, "I'm sorry and making sure you're deleted from this list..."

I didn't get that one but I have seem some crazy articles on here. Some people take Gather too seriously. I just delete and move on.

Didn't get one, but from the looks of the comments, looks like a good thing I didn't. But then I have blocked most people who send out mass emails anyway.

*blushing* I am afraid I got sucked into this one...
I hadn't been on Gather for a few days (hate it when life interupts my fun time)... and when I checked my email, here was this letter from Dee. I usually enjoy her writing and thought to myself "wow, if she's this upset..."
Then I got the email from the person she was upset with (although he only sent it to one person - I guess Dee and I were the lucky 'one').
I then privately contacted him about his gall in thinking I wanted to be one of his 'friends.'
He has since invited me to connect with him - which I never have been, so don't know how he contacted me in the first place.
I guess I don't know how to SPAM email because in my 'send to' list there are only my contacts.
He said some pretty rotten things to me about the former guides - who I consider all to be my friend - so I tried to send it to the former guides who I am connected with - I inadvertantly hit on some other names (my utmost apologies for that - but again, with Dee being so upset, *sigh*)
He has since also sent me another message - privately - again slamming the former guides and touting himself as the wonderful 'site wizard.'
I am sooo sorry I got myself into this mess - and am now - hopefully, gracefully, removing myself from the whole thing.
I am sorry you got one of my emails Carol - I believe I did apologize to you personally, and to all and everyone else that may have got it. (I sometimes get the .com and the icon and the name all confused in my poor old fuzzy head).
My granddaughter just lost her baby and we have been a little befuddled around here.
She is doing ok (her boyfriend not so much). But they are young and they will come back from this - hopefully, older and wiser.
Again my apologies - I need to investigate a bit more before I get on my soapbox!

I don't think I got one but then again I don't read all my emails, only a few from the peeps who actually have something personal to say to me...you can usually tell the spamd ones.
