According to a new BBC documentary, the Hell's Angels planned to kill Mick Jagger after the ill-fated Altamont concert, when the Stones' naive decision to use Hell's Angels for bouncers resulted in the death of an 18-year-old concertgoer.
Comments by Mick afterward so angered the Angels, the documentary claims, that they hatched a plot to reach him by sea, but the boat they were in capsized in a storm, and all the passengers were thrown overboard. Everyone survived, but no further attempts were made on Mick's life.
This disclosure came about in an interview for the documentary, "The FBI at 100." Mick may never have known that this attempt was ever made.
The Hell's Angels have always said that they had nothing to do with the murder at Altamont.
