Sure, pets are cute and seem to improve human health. But there are some places where they can't live, like nursing homes. In a way, animals are like pills: Whether they work depends on the individual and on the situation. But properly used, their support and stimulation can be a blessing. They don't ask any questions, and you don't have to give any answers. I talk to my Tom Tom (aka Tommy) all the time, he is a good friend, and he keeps all my secrets.

Adorable. I tell my dog alot of secrets. He listens to them, the cat does not sit still long enough.
He's cute
I think they should be allowed in nursing homes.....but then again if the patient isn't able to care for them it goes to the aides to take them out and such...or family members. I hadn't really thought about it until I read your post
adorable and I talk to our dogs as well. they make great friends.
nice looking dog!
I use to work for a nursing home that had a dog, another one that had a cat. Those animals was so loved and the favor was returned to the residents.

When my Mother in law was in a nursing home near us, there was a Lady there that had a cat. Everyone loved to hold and pet him.

Coming back to help some more
I talk to my dogs all the time too and they listen attentively.
I walked a dog for a man in a retirement center once. That dog meant the world to him, and he did to that dog, too.
We have them in some of our nursing homes. They really perk up the patients.
They also bring in animals to visit the residents. You should see their faces light up.
When I was convelscent with my last knee replacement, I met 3 lovely, and loving animals. A Pomeranian, a mintature horse named Black Bart, and an adorable little toy Dochshound who was a resident and only had 3 legs. They do bring sunshine into the place.
Apricot, my cat at home keeps my secrets too.
He's adorable... My puppy keeps my scerets
