"There was music, the kind that never went away: the Stones and the Doors, Janis Joplin, very early Pink Floyd. It was one of those evenings."
The music soaked into the deck, tickling my bare feet. I breathed salt air and sighed. Dennis wiggled out of my embrace, danced over to the rail, and dove into dark water, laughing.
A splash. A scream.
Moonlight glinted on silver skin. I wanted to help. I also wanted to live.
Mick's voice boomed from the speakers: "You can't always get what you want."
Dennis disappeared.
Mick again: "But you get what you need."

I think Jim Ross and Dianne J. said it best.
Thanks
I like the line: the music soaked into the deck, tickling my feet.
Very good writing!!
Nice. Did you read "The Dive From Clausen's Pier"?
love your work though it was neat....
"The music soaked into the deck, tickling my bare feet."--and
"Dennis wiggled out of my embrace,"
These lines could take writing anywhere; even to the depths of the sea, which is apparently where they took Dennis! Just a great write and an even greater read!!!
