My husband, Harold and I got some shocking news at the end of the work day on Friday. I actually had to leave early for a dental apt. and was waiting in the car when the guard called my name and said to grab my ID tag and come inside for an important meeting in the cafeteria. I was one of the last ones in and was floored when I heard they are shutting the doors on or before April 1st. This sure came out of the blue and Harold even worked overtime last week. I'm pretty much in a daze at the moment.

My sister has also been expecting her furniture plant to close anytime as well. I've spent about an hour on the phone with one of my co-workers Friday night. We're trying to keep our sprits up but it sure is hard. Would apperciate prayers for all those loosing their jobs. It seems to be happening all over lately.

I agree with Charlotte's comment, "Kind of sad that instead of updating the plant to go along with the market they are closing it." That seems like the best option, to me.
I loved that Tyson Rotisserie whole chicken, always had one in refigerator or freezer, for a quick meal.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your co-workers. It's never easy but, as my mom told me, for every door that closes another one opens.
Good luck!
Risa, I've actually been there just over a year and Harold almost a year. They have offered some of the others who have been there for many years places in the other plants.
Beth sorry to hear you lost your job too.
NC like many other places is being hit hard with closures. The only thing that seems to be thriving is biotech jobs.
Wow, that is a blow to the community. I have patients that work for Tyson in Wilkesboro... I will make sure our social worker knows to check with them to make sure they haven't lost jobs.
