Girl Scout Cookies!

I am a Brownie troop leader with 12 girls.  We are right in the peak of our cookie sale and a lot of our cookie sale comes from Cookie Booths.  If you aren't familiar with this it is where we set up a table outside of a grocery store.  Each troop purchases extra cases of cookies in hopes of selling these cookies at the Cookie Booths and if you don't sell them your troop has to still pay for those cookies.  Cookies are $3.50 a box here in Houston.  Tonight we had a cookie booth from 6-8 pm.  We sold 146 boxes of cookies!  This was a great night!  We also had $26 in donations!  I am exhausted but it is worth it.  Anyone else selling cookies?  How are you doing?

Wow, that's GREAT! I just bought some girl Scout cookies here in Idaho and they were $4.24 a box.

i have to say you are one strong woman since i couldn't sit and sell cookies.
my daughter doesn't want to be a girl scout so i have to buy from other GS in the area
i still have my sash from g's and its full of badges ...
wish my daughter would be one but i can't force her :(

My daugher was in Brownies, wasnt interested after she was old enough to be girl scouts. Sons were in boy scouts. i enjoyed helping with all of it. Keeps them where we know what they are doing. Gives them good training.

I haven't seen Girl Scout Cookies in a long time. Not sure why. I know that they are considered expensive and maybe that's why.

I sold cookies as a Scout for 12 years and then as a leader for I don't know how many more. I got so sick of cookies!!! LOL No one even comes around where we are to sell them.

That booth sale was fantastic! Congratulations! What are your girls planning to do with their profits?

I've been looking to buy Girl Scout cookies, but haven't seen too many in my neck of the woods so I can't buy anything especially when I want cookies.

I don't know how much they are and probably have gone up in price since they were $3 back when I was a Gril Scout so many years ago. God, now I feel old lol! Okay, everyone send their Girl Scouts my way so I can buy some cookies from them.

We are going to spend part of it on getting custom shirts made and a trip to the zoo in May.

I was a Girl Scout up until sixth grade. I loved cookie time!

I still buy them. My favorites are the shortbread.

My daughter's troop did a cookie booth today at our local shopping mall and they did great. I didn't get the final total from her troop leader, but she said they definitely wouldn't have to worry about the excess she bought. I do NOT love the new chocolate chip cookies though, and I think the lemon cookies box got cut in half. I'd cry if they cut the peanut butter patties or samoas any lower.

I did when my daughter was younger and in girls scouts but there does not seem to be any girl scouts going door to door in our area. It is mostly boy scouts here.

We don't have a chocolate chip cookie...hmmm...but the lemon ones we have are called Lemonades and I love them! I honestly think you don't get much for your money with any other them, but I am a bargain hunting momma! With 5 kids I have to be! BUT it is for a good cause and we do buy them for our house too.

They are $3 some places and some $3.50. I have already bought and eaten my share of the GS Cookies for the year. Hubby has his sitting on the shelf still. Fortunately, I don't like the flavors he does so they are safe from my poaching.

If I pass another booth, I may end up buying more. I remember selling them when they were only 50 cents a box. I hated it.

I haven't purchased any this time around. I saw some little girls set up at a Kroger's here but I didn't have any change. I want some though. Samoas, Lemonades, Thin Mints, oh my! :)

Oh man, I LOVE GS cookies! The ones with the coconut are amazing, and I really like the plain crispy ones that go so well with my herbal tea. Yum! Congratulations on the great night!

I had my first Samoas last year; I don't know any Girl Scouts so we don't buy cookies. That is probably a good thing... I don't need any. I'm still wearing the Thin Mints I bought years ago! I sure miss 'em, though.

Be careful...I heard some girls selling in Flordia were ripped off by a bunch of rich high school kids. I'm not selling, but I've bought four copies. My best friend and I tied for the top girl scout cookie salesmen in our council back in 1976. The next year, my mom bought 10 boxes and that was it...no selling. That year, girl scout cookies were everywhere in my house.

Nope....daughter is too young as of yet :)
I think this is the first year in several that my nieces aren't involved and I just didn't run into anyone selling them. Will miss them so have a mint chocolate chip, a coconut chocolate, and a peanut butter chocolate one for me, please.

Congrats on your great sales at your cookie booth! I have missed getting the knock on my door for quite a few years now and sometimes wonder if scouting has gone out of style? My sisters and I were brownies and then girlscouts and my brother was a cubscout and a boyscout. We all loved it!

Would you please send along some girlscouts to my part of the country as we love our girlscout cookies!! And yes they are for a very good cause!!

Girl Scout cookies are like the National Anthem at baseball games, an American way of life, a sure way to get me to cry. Had no idea they cost different amounts in different places. Shipping, I guess??
