Champ/Brian is here from time to time. William doesn't get here very often. He is having some problems with a throat tumor right now and hoping it turns out to be benign.
there has been TONS & TONS written about Margaret Laurence (a Canadian writer - most famous in the70s ...died in 86/87) .... but most of it is based on her books, not her letters
there are hundreds of letters between her & other writers ... those are my focus
I know the feeling Audrey ..... grems and jodi and denise and jax .... they were all SO good at helping me when I got stuck on papers... now they're hardly ever around...and mostly when they are it's all about catching up ...
which I understand... but I sure do miss their help
Back to the Iditarod.....All mushers and teams have made the ceremonial start/ Tomorrow at 2 PM AK time they will make the actual start in Willow. The winner will probably reach Nome in 9 days plus.
there are a bunch of misconceptions and wrong info out there.... ML "never wrote another thing after The Diviners" .... 'all her books were (or were not) autobiographical' ... etc.... I get to set them straight ...
It boils down to the fact that we all get busy with our lives and sometimes just have to prioritize. It doesn't mean we don't miss each other. I wish I could help on your papers but don't imagine I'd be much help.
I read her book,"The Stone Angel" years ago but don't even remember the story now. I'm sure it would all come back to me if I picked up the book and reread it.
the thing that grems, Lynn, GG and denise used to do best was to keep asking questions... the more I had to explain stuff to them, the more I got things hashed out ... it was a good way to get unstuck
lynn is still around and asks questions that help but she doesn't push as hard as any of them... you put those other 3 in a 'room' and they are really good at pushing me to make it make sense LOL
I was just writing about it yesterday .... that's Hagar, the 90 yo woman ... her son Marv & his wife Doris want to put her in a nursing home ... the book is all in Hagar's voice ... memories and so on .... she runs away for a few days and meets some guy too
