Too many ideas is the problem. I just write them down and then try and figure out something from them. And it is never easy!

Just pick one and write - the one who is talking above the others. That's the idea that must be written now or it'll be forgotten.

At least that's what I do.

I agree with Anne. I have lot of ideas tumbling around but there is usually one that I just can't let go of. Take that, mull it over and see if it goes anywhere.

I try to let go of judgment and just keep writing. That helps me keep the focus on the story and not on what I think about it. And I think what you are describing happens to people a lot!

I had this last week. I found I was making excuses on what not to write about, too silly, too personal. Once I sucked it up and spat out what wanted to come out I was better able to control what came next

This happens to everyone at one time or another. Sometimes it is the pressure that one can put on ones self to perform. Or the pressure one puts on ones self to produce.
I have this problem with photography at times. When I am overwhelmed the creative process stops.

I wrote three novels. They just came tumbling out. No problem, the plot stayed on track and my characters just formed themselves and when it was done also was I.
I have three or four stories rattling around in my head and I can't seem to get lined out on any one? It's crazy and I haven't the answer. If you find out let ,me know?
