Felix Gomez was on a mission in Iraq when his company comes underfire... In the midst of the chaos he takes out a family of civilians including a 12yr old girl... Overcome by remorse he stumbles upon an older man inside a run down shack... The man offers him release from his fate... He becomes a vampire... But Felix cannot stand to take human blood, he continually remembers the young girl... Now with his powers dwindling he must solve one of the most hush-hush, top-secret cases in the US military

This book ends up with quite a few interesting twists and turns, while still being a bit on the humorous side... I would give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars... While I applaud his creativity some parts of the book didn't come together well at all... It has a very strange ending and leaves nothing to the imagination... It is however, still worth the read for sci-fi lovers... Not so much Vamp lovers

I read this book awhile ago and really enjoyed it. I have also read the 2nd book in the series and liked that one as well. But it is definitely not your typical vampire tale.
