The Best Time To Begin Potty Training Boys

Do you believe potty training boys has to be a testing time? Well, it doesn't. Where most parents go wrong is starting toilet training before their toddler is ready. So when is the right time? It is not as straightforward as marking off every item on a checklist but there are indicators that will help you evaluate whether he is physically mentally and emotionally able to cope with potty training.

He understands the words associated with toilet training such as wee, poo, dirty and dry.
He understands and can carry out straightforward instructions such as pick up the bricks and put them in the toy box.
He is able to go two or three hours without needing his diaper changed.
He has regular bowel movements and shows no signs of being constipated.
He is starting to notice the physical sensations that he needs to pee or empty his bowels.
He can manage to pull his pants up and down all by himself.
He shows signs of wanting to be more independent. Perhaps he likes to copy other people's actions.
He can focus on an activity for several minutes without getting distracted.
He is not showing signs of emotional turmoil such as adjusting to a new home.

Having determined your child is ready to be trained to use the potty I highly recommend you follow a tried and tested system for potty training boys. You could say goodbye to diapers in days yes days. And you'll learn that teaching your child new skills can be a fun experience for both parents and child.
