"This war is my war; it is in my image and I deserve it... Thus, I am this war." Jean-Paul Sartre
To augment the horizons towards the evolvement of mental thought
An abolishment of judgment and the detrimental ailments once taught
A tremendous task to amend the fundamentals of humanity's lot
As an endorsement to commend with anointment for men who fought
The recruitment and deployment of freshmen soon trained- regimented to kill
A procurement of menacing fearsomeness to the embattlement of the soul's will
Some governmental experiment in what patriotic commandments to instill
While disillusionment abounds and oilmen receive empowerment in lieu of thrill
Airmen, artillerymen, corpsmen and women perform establishments' deed
With acknowledgement of compliments and adornments, then deferment to feed
Abandonment, chastisement and estrangement are their rewards, as they bleed
While assemblymen fragment their courage to implementing monuments indeed
The adjournment of support makes assessments of torment and demented minds
No menu for employment, placement or settlement for the freedoms they gave us in kind
While the gruesomeness of madmen commence reenactments of lament confined
Endangerment to the lonesomeness ignored-body counts of suicides is menially blind
An achievement to die for countrymen, but omens of punishment to survive
No arguments to mend on their behalf, just immense disgust for the homeless alive
Detachment to the embellishment of fact sends no statement of hope to thrive
Involvement, investment and endearment is momentous to amend archives
The awesomeness of this plea is an announcement of clemency with love
Calling for enlistment to be instrumental in the testament for Veteran's of
All wars they had involvement in, at the seducement of an allies shove
Give them sacramental nourishment as their sentimental shield was peace of a dove.

This is a prompt for PPOW, Poetry Play on Words - the 3-letter keyword this week was MEN and it is to be used within as many words, as possible in a poem of 24 lines or less. The subject matter was inspired by reading the statistics of 6256 Veteran suicides in 2005, while 846 soldiers were killed in battle, in addition to more than 1/4th of our nation's homeless being Veteran's of Vietnam and all wars and conflicts that have followed.
