Carmel Apples - In The Crockpot?

No doubt you have already had caramel apples earlier in the fall but now that it is winter, the fairs and festivals are over so you dont see as many of them.. It seems they sell well at all festivals and fairs. The problem is that they are expensive...very expensive.

Well if you love caramel apples, you will love this easy crockpot recipe to make caramel apples. They are delicious and are just so easy to make. Everyone one will love them and you will save lots of money compared to those food stands.


Crockpot Caramel Apples
2 (14 ounce) packages caramels
1/4 cup water
8 apples
8 sticks
Toppings: nuts, M&Ms, mini chocolate chips,
candy decorations

Grease a strip of wax paper, long enough for all the apples; set aside.

In crockpot, combine caramels and water. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring frequently.

Wash and dry apples. Insert stick into stem end of each apple. Turn crockpot to LOW. Dip apple into hot caramel and turn to coat entire surface. Holding apple above pot, scrape off excess caramel from bottom apple. Place on greased wax paper to cool.

Once the caramel has set, roll the apples in the toppings of your choice.  It is much more frugal than purchasing them.
