I found the book Good Man Hunting by Lisa Landolt a very entertaining and enjoyable read. This book was right up my alley and it was nice to read a book that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Meet Sandra Greene. She's 21 years old, assistant manager at a Pizza place and has no other prospects for the future. In other words, she feels stuck in a rut and doesn't know how to move forward in her life. She'd like to go to college but doesn't have the funds to do it. What she would really like, is to settle down with a nice man but she feels that she's to unattractive and boring to land a good looking nice man. Unexpectedly she receives a wedding invitation to an old friend's wedding. When she goes, she's stunned that it really is her friend for her friend is marrying a good looking man during a lavish wedding ceremony full of people. Her friend had been just like her so Sandra wonders....how did her friend's life change so drastically?
During the wedding ceremony, she receives an invitation to come to a meeting of the Hunt Club. Sandra isn't so sure but she's soon talked into just going to one meeting, to see if she would like to become a member.
One meeting is all it takes for Sandra to become hooked. The Hunt Club is an organization made up of rich women who play matchmaker. They take single women who don't have a lot going for them in their life and help them hook in a rich eligible bachelor. To a ordinary girl like Sandra who often feels invisible to the opposite sex, this is a dream come true. The single women in the organization aren't rich so they have to sign an agreement that states they will pay the club back any expensive's occurred during the "hunt" as well as paying the club 10 percent of her husbands income when they get married. The men never know that they were played and have no knowledge of the Hunt Club.
At first Sandra enjoys the process. The club is very organized. The women are broken up into teams to find out more information about the man they are "hunting" and other teams go undercover to set up certain situations so that the woman and "hunted" man meet and click. The Hunt Club has locations all over the United States so when they need information on a man who lives in another area, they contact that Hunt Club group for assistance. Sandra helps with the process of hooking up another woman in the club and shortly after she is chosen for her turn.
Sandra has her eye on an actor who used to play in a TV series that she has watched over and over again. The Hunt Club loves a challenge and will go to any length to arrange elaborate hookups and so Sandra gets to meet her man, Hollywood actor Michael Warren. As it turns out, there is a real connection between Sandra and Michael but per the Hunt Club rules you have to take it slow and not be intimate with the man you're "hunting" until you're engaged. Sandra and Michael part ways but Sandra hopes and feels that Michael will call her soon. It is around this time that she is detained by the FBI. Apparently...the Hunt Club is not all it appears to be.
When a man they are hunting has a girlfriend, the Hunt Club relocates that person. Sandra was told that the person they needed out of the way was offered a better job in a different area so they wouldn't be around the man they were "hunting" any longer. The FBI paints a very different story for Sandra...murder....
Does the Hunt Club really go to such drastic lengths to get rid of someone? Will Sandra & Michael end up together..? Or will Michael have a surprise twist of his own...
You'll have to read the book to find out. And if you like chick lit with a twist, I recommend you read this book. It held my attention from the beginning to end.
At the end of the book, there are author insights and other extras.

I read the book too and couldn't put it down. Not only that, but I got my BF into it by telling him how the story was progressing.
I am grateful that I have him....otherwise I might need the Hunt Club!
