Do drivers honk their horns where you live?

All the time. The worst are the Taxi drivers who honk repeatedly in my apartment complex to try and signal to the person that called the cab that they are waiting.

Here it depends on what part of town you are in. In our neighborhood not many people honk their horns. We like it quiet.

No one really honks their horns by me...drive a few minutes into the city though and the horns start up. I guess people are more polite in the suburbs?

Yep. People honk all the time here in Houston. I just ignore it. I'm not in hurry most of the time and if they are, oh well! I'm not losing my life or wrecking my car to help them get to work or where ever on time.

Thanks for the comments. It is strange how some places people honk and other places they don't. In Dallas we keep hearing honks, so I guess it is a normal thing there.

We live in Jersey -- not only do people honk, but they also have an impressive repertoire of sign and other language.

austin, i used to live in NJ. i was once told while driving in Cali by my passenger that they've never heard such a large string of curses come out of someone's mouth in so short of a time frame in their life. i told them it's cause i honed my skills while living in NJ.
