The Democrats: High Stakes in Ohio

I will say the same thing i said after the Austin debate, no one hit a home run, no one made a fatal error. I did not see or hear anything significant enough to make the committed change their minds or the uncommitted come to a decision.

Since attention shifted to Texas, Obama has closed the gap and is now in a statistical dead heat with HC. I don't get any sense that this shift has anything to do with the debates.

Early voting is up across the board from double to as high as a factor of 8 to 10 in some precincts.

(update - 173,000 early ballots cast in Harris County (Houston) so far as opposed to 55K total in 2004.)

The math is against her. If even they seat Florida she does not have the delegates. Unless Obama makes some fatal error sheer inertia will put him in. He can handle McCain. The point is Obama represents the anti-Bush, true or not for better or worse.

The deabtes have not helped either candidate. Obama had the most to lose and he played it very safe. His oratory skills cover up him lack of knoweldgeor experience. I believe many younger people see him as the antidote to Bush. I see him as equally dangerous for our country. I will vote McCain of Obama is the nominee.

If you are interested in a continuation of the Bush era then vote McCain. The danger of Obama? Like what? Experiance?? Harry Truman sold shirts and ties and then spent one term in the Senate as a machine candidate then VP and was kept completely out of the loop by FDR. He did pretty good for a Missouri haberdasher. Lincoln had a few terms in the Illinois state senate, one undistinguish term in the US House, ran twice and lost twice for the US Senate and was elected Pres. JFK was a silver spoon aristocrat with a Senate term. IKE was career military. Obama presents no more "danger" than any other Pres with the exception of Dubya. Bush has been the most "dangerous" Pres in American history. Dangerous to liberty, commerce, equality and justice. But he's been a great friend to those who wish to destablize and weaken America. Vote for McCain and leave in power fools who consider the Constitution something to be avoided instead of followed and revered. Obama is a Constituional scholar. Wouldn't it be nice to have somebody in office who actually cares what it is to be an American?

The debate themselves didn't hurt or help either candidate, we know that Hillary Clinton stands up well in the spotlight. I was impressed by the over all poise of Obama.
