Broken free
I fall into
an unknown place
anxious and afraid
confused
perhaps torn
Around the corner
is a new discovery
or something that's been
there
all along
I find my strength
pull myself up
to stand triumphant
like
(insert grandiose metaphor here
preferably involving
tall trees
mountains
open skies
and/or
patriotic birds)
and shine my example
so all may persevere
and find peace
