Granted this tag is about vets helping vets, but that also means people helping people.
Be willing to listen to the older generation, you never know, you may screw up and learn something you DIDN'T know.
Be there to give a shoulder to one that is hurting.
Will you be there when a friend is needed?
We were not put on this Earth to be selfish with our time or ourselves. We were, however, put here to help those that are less fortunate than us. Personally, right or wrong, I prefer those that need the help, not those that in their particular situations voluntarily.
