Purple Flowers

Simply speaking, dear friends, I love purple flowers

and flowering trees. I saw these along one of my daily walks.

Along my path, there are many citrus trees. This is how they look as of yesterday!

Eating these oranges, is like tasting sunshine!

I love how plants can live in harmony with one another. Look at this cactus.

As I look at all of your gorgeous photos, I can hear the scrape of snowshovel against the latest 8 inches of white stuff. I think that I'll go out and get some pics of all that for you, Mariana! Thank you for the glory of flowers and fruit...might you like the crystal shine of snow on limbs and ice sheathed twigs?

That looks so nice, warm and inviting. We still have cloud drandruff on the ground here. My favorite purple hue is in the morning glory flower.

Nice pictures. I'll bet you would love Jacaranda trees then. In the spring here, they explode into a canopy of purple flowers above bright green feathery leaves that you can see from quite a distance if the tree is large. They are so purple and just gorgeous when they bloom.
I used to have one I nurtured from a small sapling, only to have a bad frost kill it one year before it reached a good size.... ;-(

It is no wonder you are always so cheerful! These are beautiful, and much needed in the midst of our cold, slushy winter. I just know that my entire mood will change when I get to spend my winters where the flowers bloom all year long.

It's dreary here, too. The week's been rainy, with more to come.

I, too, love purple flowers and purple clothes too. Purple can actually be a slimming color. That is my belief and I am sticking to it.

I missed this article for some reason, but it was a joy to see it now. I was just in California to visit a dying friend and attend his funeral--the saddest trip of my life--but it was at least brightened by visits to the Los Angeles Arboretum and Descanso Gardens, where I saw gorgeous blooms and orange trees and cactus as I do in this gorgeous sequence of yours!

How I would love to live somewhere with that much sunshine. The winter blues are especially strong this gloomy season.

Great photo essay, thanks for shipping me some of that Ca. sunshine. It stormed here earlier, to the point of the sky was totally dark. Yeah it was bad. To make matters worse, rain is expected all the way through monday.

I loved the photo of the cactus. Is it an Agave? They are so expensive but well worth the money. I have many flowers of many colors. Agapanthus are purple and so are Spiderwort. We have many wild flowers on our property. I try very hard not to pull them and have many of them tagged. My favorite are Bromilliads. Did you know that a pineapple is a Bromilliad? I hope I am spelling it correctly. The day lilies have been quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos.
