In October of 2007, my daughter, Pamela, left New Hampshire to drive across country. Her first destination was to go to Oregon. It was a hard decision for her, she was leaving her family, and her good friends. But she has this adventurous spirit that she just can't ignore.
So with many kisses, hugs, and tears she sets off!
Along the way she is enjoying the sights, the different area's of the country, and takes many pictures. And some areas along the way, were so inviting, she had to stop, and go for a hike, or just lay down in a beautiful field, to just look up at the sky!
When she gets to Oregon, she's ready for more adventures, so she starts to work with my sister, Katie, who hauls manufactured houses to locations in Oregon, California and Washington !
Pamela started out piloting for Katie, she watched how the houses were delivered, she watched as they would unload the pieces of the home, placing them with the use of the crawler, and fitting them together. She just watched every step of the process!
Soon, she decided she could do this to, and true to Pamela's great spirit, she was doing it herself! My sister Katie, and their boss, "H", said she was a natural! My first thought when my sister told me this, was "of course"!
The only times she is really discouraged, is when they have a long layover somewhere, due to weather, or a dealership owner can't figure out where he wants the house to go!! (katie g's article "this is insane!")
Pamela has seen how hard some of these trips are, the breakdowns, the long waits, the stupid drivers who risk everyones life, trying to get by them! I think she has seen just about all of it, yet it does not deter her! Her incredible spirit, her drive, the challenges, its all in her, and her farther and I are so proud of her!
What will tomorrow bring for you, my beautiful daughter?
