I went to the WIC office this morning to get recertified, what a blessing WIC is.

Now I am home with the boys relaxing, trying to earn a bit online.

I'm watching the news from Serbia. I don't know very much about the problems there, so I'm going to some of the news websites and find out what's going on. It's very disturbing to watch someone lighting the American flag on fire at the embassy there.

I am currently supposed to be studying for my business class but procrastinating /

I've been on BoomerTowne the last 2 hrs working on today's 1500 points. I haven't figured the site out much yet but the points add up quickly. Thought I would sign up and get some before it crashes!! I like the fact you can earn Visa gift cards there.

I am getting my income taxes done this afternoon and am dreading that. Last year, due to unexpected income at the last minute, I had to pay out a huge lump of money. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again this year.

Then this evening I'm getting a massage from this wonderful therapist who stopped my neck pain finally. I had been in a minor car accident last Sept and have been going to the chiropractor and massage therapist since then. This therapist I saw 3 weeks ago had a lot of different techniques. The pain went away during the session and has not returned!

That's pretty much the way my husband and the Ho Dog look when they fall asleep watching tv every night - except he's curled up with a red white and blue quilt, and Maggie has one of her squirrel furbabies with her instead of that big lizard you've got.

As for me... you already know.....I'm stuck at the real Maggie Moore's Dance hall and saloon earning money for that plumber. I just got an e-mail from my friend Mike who owns the town where I'm working, and now I'll never get out of Cerro Gordo and get some real stuff done!

I'm nursing a bad sinus infection, dreading the corrective surgery due March 3 and praying I don't lose my sight as they have warned me......I'm also trying not to think about when my hubby gets home with his major case of the whines becuase he has that horrible flu going around...maybe I'll go to bed and pretend to fall asleep and actually do...then again he'd only wake me up with his coughing and hacking in my ear...almost slept on the couch last night but was too cold and sore to move......also dreading when my daughter from Florida will call becuase all she does is repeat herself over and over about her current boyfriend situation...I told her I was sounding like a broken record and so was she.....soooooo aside that and my one cat sick and vomiting and the weather being with wind chill about 10 degrees and due for a strong and heavy snow storm tonight......not a very happy camper right now...can I climb in beside you-you look so peaceful and comfortable.....I could use a warm hug. :0)

Hi Mariana, At the moment I am on Gather, but shortly I will take a shower, dress and leave for my karate lesson. Today after my lesson, I am helping out with the kids' group karate class for the very first time, so I am alternately nervous and excited. If it goes well, I will get to help out with the kids' classes three times a week!

I've been spending the day investigating why I have no water. My water bill is paid. I thought my pipes froze, but upon further investigation, I realized that didn't happen. No water running outside, and the water meter isn't moving, so that means I don't have a leak. I feel good now. It is more than likely a city problem.

Home from work for the third day this week with the flu......

Vicky...I had to too after you wrote about a big lizard.....there is one there....sheesh...how did I miss that! Did anyone notice that all three have thier mouths open...even the dog is showing some teeth....LOL....too funny!

I love visiting your world, Mariana! I love your swanky binky. Like you, I'm curled up with the dogs today! I called in "sick" needing a mental health day. I'm catching up on sleep, nibbling on my favorite flatbread with WI cheddar and drinking tea. Sigh...I feel better already.

Well, I'm surfiung Gather of course ;) It's pouring rain today. So it was a good one to stay in the house.

Much as I'd love to be napping with my dogs, I'm slaving away at work. My faculty are in Chicago attending a professional convention. So I am covering for them and myself. Oy!

Hi sleepy, gal...I have donned my softest grey pj's and am pouring a glass of my favorite red while the red potatoes roast. Will throw together an omelette with some leftover ham and have the hubby and the kiddo fed. Had to work today so didn't have time on Gather till now...hunting for great colleges this coming week for my son who wants to be a classics major, maybe a professor at some point. I think that means he wants to be in school for a long time! Any greatest college reccs out there?
After my dishes are cleared, I will be assuming mariana's pose...sans the baby alligator!

Patricia - I think it's wonderful that your son wants to major in the classics. He must be brilliant - I would be in school all my life if I could - I love school! (don't like tests though) but I was an art major!

What a cute picture! I'm just catching up on laundry and seeing what my Gather friends are up to. It's cold and rainy here - good napping weather.

Dang...Mariana... I just didn't do much of anything productive today after all..yesterday was much more interesting. I did have fun with a history quiz on desert women with a bunch of the guys on one of my desert message boards, though. Poor guys didn't have a clue who they were - but I knew most of them without cheating!

I had a pretty good day. I did laundry and cleaned up both me and my trailer. I finished book six of the series "Red River of the North" by Loraine Snelling and started "Better to Rest" by Dana Stabenow. I have checked e-mail and Gather three times today but did not write an article. Maybe something will inspire an article tomorrow. And tomorrow I WILL bake! I want to make chocolate eclairs. I watched part of the debate between Hillary and Obama tonight.

My day was spent alone at the office, then home to watch the Tour of California online as they rode into San Luis Obispo in the driving rain!! I played with the chickens, of course, talked to my daughter at college and my sister in Pennsylvania. But the wierd thing is, I spent most of the rest of the near tears or in tears.....having a rough week or something. Gotta figure out if it's grief or what....... well - I tackled the 'blues' in a very female way - I went shopping online, and then I booked a birthday getaway for my hubby and me (his 57th coming soon) at a wine country Inn. Time for bed now.

Well, that was yesterday so I can tell you. I spent the morning cooking. I made stuffed red bell peppers, clam chowder and cooked down some Fava beans. Then, when my daughter finally gave me my computer back I spent a good few hours going through the 450 pictures I took of the eclipse the night before. Finally, I posted them in an article after esizing, watermarking them. We took a ride to run a few errands and I took a great picture of a Red-breasted Merganser that I posted. My friend dropped by for dinner and I watched Jeopardy, American Idol, Frasier then crashed. How's that?

I'm watching the clock to make sure I'm not late picking up DS from school. I'm going to go for a walk with him afterward.

I did the same thing yesterday! Lol!

I had a great day at school today, a work day to catch up on so many unfinished projects, we've had supper, I've read the paper, the hubs is snoozing, and I am looking forward to time to kick back and read with my pooch on my lap. Yours looks like it does a dandy job keeping you warm and cozy--

What a lovely little ally you have on your bed. I'm so taken by this being. Ages ago, while studying in Massachusetts and wandering the Berkshires, my best friend was a long haired Shepherd. As I sat in meditation deep in the forest away from any trail, he'd sit at my feet, protecting me from whatever woodland things might creep nearby, and not once ever disturbed me. He learned to carry a backpack. One time, I led a group of high school students up the White Mountains. The forecast called for a bit of drizzle and clearing. But that night, the fall's first northeaster slammed. And we woke up to several inches of snow and a total white out. Above the treeline, over some of the Presidential range, we were unable to see even the stone cones of the Appalachian trail. As an adult, entrusted by these teens parents, I perhaps felt the greatest angst of my life until then. But "Dan" led all twenty of us safely back, even finding a way to ford a little creek, now a raging river due to the weather. He certainly had no qualms, and took it all in stride.

Thanks for your take on the video. Be happy always. And you know what, damn the curiosity that killed the cat. Never ever loose your knack for curiosity. Thanks for sharing.

I 'm typing this with one hand while using a sword in my other hand and flatulence with my secret weapon to fend off turkey hunters who have all dyed their hair blonde and are wearing thongs and are trying to convince me I'm only half baked while I anxiously await the llama Flickertail to spirit me away to the land of popsicles and black mini skirts.

i'm green with envy that you are able to work in your PJ's. I could probably do the same thing if i didn't mind all the guys i work with galking at me. especially if i wore my usual nighttime attire.
