It has been a LONG week, blame my off humor title on that. I can say that the state of the garden is STRONG and mean it, and have pic's to back it up!
Over a month ago I began posting pics of my exsisting plants and seed starting efforts.
Some of those who read my articles asked me to keep them informed of the progress my babe's were making. I have posted individual pictures over the last few weeks, but thought I would bring this weeks pics in an article.
I would have titled it February Through a Gardner's Eyes..but I am still having nightmares over misspelling January!
This has been a month of anxiousness for me. Experiencing true winter weather fronts comming through, a few losses' of electricity(luckily none devastating) and some extra activities that have kept me out of the hot house more than usual.
I have tried to enjoy the beauty of what nature has dealt us, but truth be told, I am done with winter and am basically begining to act like a caged zoo animal pacing within my enclosure. I am ready to turn off the heat, throw open the windows, and breath in spring.
I feel the race welling up inside of me
as the creeks run heavy with water after the thaw
As each day grows longer
my patience grows shorter
even the moon holds me at bay
my feet, like the earth, are still cold
but my heart warms
to each bud that my dogwoods display
they feel
like I do
the sun on my face
but just not enough to give way!

I especially loved the poem, my favorite lines were "my feet, like the earth, are still cold / but my heart warms" Feels that way for me, too. I am so ready for the sunshine and the warmth. I'm done with school on March 20, and my weekends are my own then. Yell as to where you'll be on March 21-23...It's my freedom weekend.
