Spray Vinegar on Underarm of Shirts Before Cleaning

MY husband's shirts used to come back from the cleaners with a foul underarm odor, then I read a tip somewhere about spraying underarms of shirts with vinegar water before washing. I mixed clear vinegar with water 50/50 in a spray bottle and saturated the underarms of all his shirts before taking to cleaners or washing at home. When I picked up shirts from cleaners they asked me what I had done, because the shirts no longer smelled bad during pressing. Very cheap, easy and effective, and it never affected color either

I wonder if this works for the yellow stains that white shirts seem to get at the pits? Our old roommate would get this on his tees and his girlfriend never knew what to do. I've noticed that some of my shirts have had this happening to them lately, too. It's starting to piss me off because I love wearing white tees.

Great idea. I used to use vinegar as a final rinse when I couldn't afford fabric softener. It's good for getting the soap out, too. I'm going to try this in a pre-wash in the washer. Thanks!

If you have little ones who have accidents, use full strength vinegar in the wash to get rid of urine odor also.
