
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream OR 1 cup milk OR 1 cup half and half
4 eggs
1/2 cup (real) maple syrup
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter 4 custard cups. Put a shallow baking dish, large enough to hold the custard cups, in the oven and fill halfway with hot water.
Beat all ingredients together and fill custard cups. Place filled cups in the water bath in the oven. Bake for 20 minutes or until custard is barely set. Run a knife around the edges to turn the custard out onto a serving plate or serve in cups.
