I am personally supporting this Ebay strike. I am a buyer and a small-time seller. I see these changes not only meaning higher costs for sellers but also for the buyers. Unfortunately, when Ebay raises their fees...it forces sellers to raise their shipping costs. Not good news for anyone.

This, to me, does not make sense. When eBay raises their fees, shouldn't it be the seller's prices that change, not their shipping costs?
For example....the cost to put an item up on Ebay was .20cents for an auction starting at .99 cents. Supposedly, they've lowered it .5cents. BUT, final value fee is going up...possibly 66% which not only nullifies the first reduction but makes the whole auction more expensive to sellers to list. Each little "feature" on Ebay costs the seller money such as extra photos, bold print, gallery view, setting a reserve and more.
Besides the costs to sell on Ebay, PayPal also charges many sellers (with certain types of accounts) to accept payments from buyers.
As it is now, many sellers on Ebay already charge a bit more money on shipping to cover some of the costs that Ebay and PayPal charge to use their services. With the increase in costs to use Ebay, sellers will more than likely hike up their shipping costs to try to cover more of Ebay's fees.
