Weekend Chew & Stew - February 16 & 17, 2008

Well, here you are at the Weekend Chew & Stew.  Pull up a chair and tell us what you're chewing on or stewing about.  This place is just like the Daily Whine & Shine.  You can rant or stomp your feet if you wish....or shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"

Or you can tell us what's good in your life.  Do you have something about which to shout, "Yippee skippy!"?????  Wanna share???????

I won't be around much today. I'm giving the message at church tomorrow, so I have to finish preparing for that.

We took Allison to the airport early this morning for her trip back to Memphis. Sad to see her go...

Well, just stopping in for a second, Gather had me off line for 2 days and I have tons to catch up with, so hopefully I'll catch up and get to all the articles and photos for the last two days. I don't hold out much luck of that happening, I'm already burned out and have been here since 9am already trying to catch up, it's noon now.

I'm here on Gather...procrastinating! I'm supposed to be doing the taxes yet I seem to have lost all ambition...hahaha. I know...I know...just do it and get it over with...right. ugh!

I was worried much of the day about my son's girfriend. Her flight left Cincinnati at 9:20 this morning and she should have arrived in Memphis at 1:45 this afternoon. Not. Something happend to the plane in Chicago and they spent more than an hour waiting. Something about a valve that wouldn't open and had to be opened manually. She also left her cell phone here, so couldn't call. (Did you know that pay phones require 75 cents now???) She's home safe now - but it must have been about 7 pm when she called. Guess it was good that my son was sleeping all day (since they were up all night...with Allison being sick.)

And I finally got my sermon all finished. Talk about just under the wire. I knew I had to give the message tomorrow about 3 weeks ago or more. Then there was my brother's funeral, my physical therapy, MRIs, doctor appointments, then the new (8 month old) puppy arrived. I had most of my sermon finished about 2 weeks ago, but needed to tweak it. All done. Whew.

I'm glad you made your deadline and Allison made it home but I think it would be a good idea for you to try to get some rest to ward off any fibro flare ups.

Bethany, the folks at church told me I did real good. :-) In fact, some of the church folks are planning on telling the pastor that he should let me give the message about once a month...and let the Praise Team keyboardist lead the group once a month. Not sure how he's going to take that.

He'll probably enjoy the break. Not that he probably doesn't love what he does, but you know, always giving out is draining. It's good to be able to sit back and take things in sometimes.

Marilyn I just read what you said they said at church and if you ask me and I hope you do not mind my saying so but I feel if you are up to doing it why should you not give ther sermen at your church once a month. You like being a insperation to others and who knows you had said once you wanted to get back in to something that would help influance the youngger generation. I myself think you could make a difference this way. Have a little confidence in yourself. I think you could be very good at this. I say if he lets you, try it.
