Welcome to the HelpCenter™!

The original Gather help series -- assisting members since 2006.
Need a little help, or have a question?
Can't find something? ...or figure out how something works?
Ask other members!
Leave a question below, or click any SiteWizard™ link to chat LIVE!
The Daily SiteWizard articles will also return soon with a slightly different focus, as well as a complete "Mastering Gather" tutorial series and a comprehensive help index, categorized by subject. Plus, look for a new DateBook and Daily Digest (Community Event Calendar), with all-new extended features and information!
Thankfully, a major project at work passed exhaustive testing this week, so I am now able to return to publishing the daily DateBook and SiteWizard content.
I apologize for the delay!
Marrianne -- This timeframe is really dependent upon your ISP and other factors outside of Gather's control at this point. You might try clearing your browser 'cache', but that will likely not have much of an impact. I hope that they come back soon for you though!
GREAT question!
And the answer is yes...and no.
The link that you refer to takes you to a page where you can then break down your subscriptions by group or member (via a drop-down box on the left). The 'member' option works well, and will allow you to remove your member subscriptions. However, the 'group' option doesn't appear to differentiate between groups you are a member of, and those you have only subscribed to. Thus, I have a feeling that there is glitch affecting half of this page. I'll be back with another option for you though.
Group subscriptions also appear on your 'email preferences' page, under your account settings. Therefore, on this page you can remove all notification options for any group you are subscribed to. Technically you will still be subscribed to the group, but effectively you will not receive any notice of group activity.
What you are experiencing should begin to disappear soon. If it doesn't, please let me know.
Have a nice wekend.
Could you please advise on how
to put our groups into categories
to make the publishing process easier?
Thanks.
I have a SiteWizard article I will be publishing later today that covers two gather tips, but not the categorization of groups. The categorization technique will be published tomorrow, as I need to make some changes to the verbiage.
Thanks!
This is related to the problem Gather has been experiencing the past few days (look for Tom's article if you haven't already read it - tom.gather.com).
I suggest trying to clear your 'cache' in AOL. That MAY help alleviate the problem you are experiencing.
I hope that helps!
Luna said to ask you about formatting articles--- adding enclosed fields/ tables to the article to highlight or keep separate parts of the article. Just like what you used above, they look like grey, not orange bubbles.
Thanks for any help you can toss my way!
Hi Duckie you are at the right place :)
Luna -- Thanks...please feel free to help chime in anytime and answer questions. Due to your time zone, and your expertise, you're in a great position to help others!
Luna, thanks for steering me to the source :-)
keep it up
