Here's what I requested this morning for today's writing essential:
" For today's Writing Essential, I'd like to feature pieces that show our expressions of love. NO LOVE STORIES! That's too vague. I want clear expressions of love, written in any format. Your love may be expressed to anyone or anything...be imaginative! Submit a letter, a poem, an essay telling someone of your love or addressed to something that you love. Humor is perfectly acceptable, too!"
And here's what I received:
Our dear sweet Elsie Duggan posted a lovely Valentine tribute to her beloved late husband. You can read Forever Valentine here:
David V. submitted a poem titled Free As A Dove:
Amanda C. shared her PPOW Valentine poem:
Rose (just an ole GA peach) submitted an exceptional photo essay to a mother deserving of all of our thanks. Check it out here:
Parul S. addressed her friends here at Gather in her heartfelt Valentine greeting:
dianne j. shares her mother's attributes with us in I Love You Mum:
There were other incredible submissions, and I'm going to venture out onto a limb and say that today's Gather glitches have possibly made them disappear? I'm not really sure what happened. There WERE additional well-written pieces that I accepted and even featured throughout the day...and now they're gone. To those of you who wrote them, rest assured that I didn't delete your pieces...they were read and enjoyed.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

it seems like maybe the powers that be tried a rollback as a quick fix for the gather gremlins... didn't work ... but resulted in a bit of data lost... I kno a bunch of comments - and even some connections ... went poof too
You have my admiration for hanging in there during what must have been a very trying day. Then, being the kind person you are, you actually meandered over and made me feel better about my relatively small trials and tribulations here. You have no idea how much better you made me feel. For the first time in a long time, I was contemplating a drink (not that I'm a total abstainer or former alcoholic or anything, just don't like the extra calories). My doctor keeps telling me to drink more red wine (supposed to be good for the heart) but I'm honestly so tired by the end of the day that I fear I'll be comatose after even 4 ounces of the stuff. Crazy, I know.
Anyway, you were better than the best red wine I'd have had on hand. :)
PS - Happy Belated Valentines Day. Hope it was good for you, Kim.
