Celebrity Look-Alikes, IMHO
Have you ever been told by people you look like some famous celeb, political figure, or just someone they know?
I usually get told I look like "someone they know" these days, but when I was a teenager, I used to get told I looked like Leslie Gore, you know, the singer who did "It's My Party"??? (for you Boomers out there who remember her...)
I thought it would be fun to write an article about "who's who" in my family and a couple other people I've seen along the way, who remind me of someone famous, and perhaps you'd like to respond in kind, with your own family or friend celeb look-alikes.
So, to start, here's Leslie Gore, and me at age 13 circa 1963:
Now, Leslie's not 13 here, obviously, but it's the only photo of me with the 60s hair that my Mother used to dutifully set and comb out for me back then...the picture's pretty washed out!

So, moving right along, here's Angie Dickinson and my Mom circa 1967, whom people used to say she looked like:
I have to say, my Mom was a real fox in her youth, but she never made a big deal about it...and in fact, didn't really think she was that pretty at all. I think all those turning male heads disagreed!

Mom would probably shoot me for less, but often, to her chagrin, she now gets told she looks like....Barbara Stanwick. I don't know, what do you think? I think she's a bit softer looking than Cowgirl Barb! I took this pic of my Mom this year.

Soooo...now we come to my hubby, Bill, who loves to make crazy faces sometimes when I'm taking his picture. For example, we have here his "Benny Hill" face (oh, and if you can't tell for sure, that's my Bill on the left, poking his head out of a window at the fort on Mackinac Island):
This man really makes me laugh (hubby that is)! One piece of marriage advice: Marry someone who does just that - someone who makes you laugh; it really helps through some of the difficult times!

One time, Bill went to a new dentist for the first time, and the guy could have sworn he was related to the Kennedy family in some way (dear God...):
I think it's mostly about the hairline, hair color and maybe head size...but, trust me, he's nothing like old scrappy Ted!

Here's "Lil" and "Phil" from the Rugrats...and my great-niece, Maddy, when she was less than a year old. My stepdaughter said she looked just like "Lil" to her. I had to concur!
Now that she's older, she just looks like herself, and she's absolutely the cutest, most facially expressive little toddler on the earth! It should really be something next Christmas holiday when she's started talking!!!

This next fellow just happened to be sitting in a restaurant with his family outside of the aquarium in Kentucky, just over the Ohio border. I'm not a terribly subtle person (someone once told me I put the "b" back in "suBtle" ;-D ), and I asked him if he'd mind if I took his picture because he reminded me so MUCH of Nicholas Cage! He laughed at that, said he got that all the time, and let me snap away...so here's the real Nicholas Cage and his doppleganger!
Pretty amazing, huh? ;-D

This past summer, a friend of mine and I went to the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, to see a GREAT Beatles copy band called 1964:The Tribute. We nearly fell out of our seats! They looked and especially, sounded EXACTLY like the Beatles, and it was all I could do to contain myself. Everyone was standing up and singing along to "She Loves You", "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", and a host of other very familiar, very loved Beatles songs. Even the onstage banter was just like them - each member has thoroughly studied his respective Beatle, as well as every detail of each song, so that you can't tell it's not the original. Mind blowing! Go to www.1964thetribute.com to read about them.
Now, obviously, these guys are deliberately trying to look AND sound like the FAB FOUR!! ...and they really do! Check out their website to see when they're coming to a city near you!

If you want to see who YOU look like, there's this really slick website called My Heritage, and you can go to www.myheritage.com/celebrity-collage where you can upload your own picture, see who they think you look like, and then make a collage or other things from your results! Here's mine:

I've gotta tell ya, though, NOBODY's ever told me I look like Johnny Depp!!! ;-D Sometimes MyHeritage doesn't quite "nail it". In this case, I think it's just because he and I both are wearing a hat. I honestly think I look the most like Paula Deen, the TV country cookin' chef, more than anyone here, regardless of the higher percentages that they have given for my other celeb look-alikes.

To be totally objective, I thought it only fair that I upload my hubby's picture to the above website as well, to see what MyHeritage.com thought HE looked like. Here are the results:

Okay, so no Benny Hill, and no Ted Kennedy - Demi Moore? Uh huh! Right! Just like me and Johnny Depp, I think! I don't really think he looks like anyone here...maybe just a tad like Michael Cain or even a little like Shawn Michaels...but I'll let you be the judge!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In closing, I want to say, that most of all, my hubby looks just like HIMSELF. He's a one-of-a-kind man, with his very unique, one-of-a-kind personality, and who I love with all my heart!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO MY SWEETHEART!!
My Bill
