I often wonder about some of my old friends I haven't seen in a long time. I was shocked at Christmas 2006. After sending cards to the usual folks I mailed to ever year, I received a card back from an older man in Michigan who informed me his wife had passed earlier that year from a heart attack. I also got a card from a guy around 40 letting me know his wife, whom I had gone to school with, had died a couple months prior from breast cancer. Just this past year, I was asking about an older uncle of mine while attending a family funeral. One of my cousins looked at me strange and let me know Unc had been dead for over 2 years. Even in my immediate family, I didn't find out my own father died for almost 2 weeks after he passed...and that was only after a friend had sent me his obituary out of the newspaper thinking I might like to have it as a memento. I couldn't even tell you if my mother is still living as I haven't spoken to her in over a year...and she lived less than a mile up the same street from where I used to live. We're so close, I didn't bother telling her or my sister I was moving away, let alone where I was moving to.

Damn. Nothing is coming to me, but I know there are many that I am asking "Isn't h/she dead yet?"

rob, i recently visited my grandmother's to find an obit on the table for my uncle's sis in law. i was flabbergasted! i asked why no one had mentioned that she'd passed but everyone looked at me as if they thought i knew. uh, hello? if no one tells me then how can i know? i have been trying my best to gather names and numbers i have jotted down over the years to contact people i havent seen in a while. for some reason, i feel the need to start keeping contact with friends and family. a sign of the times i guess.

shan, i had a long list of names when i thought about publishing the article but i can't remember anyone either. another sign of the times.

how about kate jackson? anyone seen her lately?

My cat, Bobby. He lives with my father, or did when I left about seven years ago, and was a very old cat when I left -- and so he's probably met his end by now. I try not to think about it too much.

Elminor's mother just passed Monday. She was my talking buddy.

I just seen Ben Vereen, he's still alive, he supposed to be Usher's step daddy but he look like the real daddy. They look unbelievably alike.

I thought they were all dead. I see dead people all the time.

I was an only child so my husband, kids and family have always been a priority with me. There have been times that disagreements occur, but patience and talking it out usually works out the kinks, if not, we just skirt the issue that causes contention. lol


Rob, sorry to hear about your immediate family. I hope you can resolve the issues and. at least, enjoy staying in contact.

Years ago when I was a single mom of than it was just my oldest boy. My stepmother came over and yelled at me for not coming to hwer brother furneal. I looked at her and asked what was she talking about. Thats I when I learn Uncle Billie died.

Noone bothered to call me and let me know. They expected me to read it in the newspaper which I don't get. I didn't than because I couldn't afford it. I don't now because I live out of state. But I do check the orbits from my home town online every day.
